Buckminster Fuller Institute at Studio Dror

Posted on October 21, 2011

On October 12th, the Buckminster Fuller Institute and studio Dror together invited a small group of thinkers and doers of Architecture and Design to discuss the whole-systems design thinking and their efforts to push their practices towards a more ecological and socially-responsible place. The framework for these conversations was drawn by Buckminster Fuller’s thinking; informed by a critically important approach to solving our increasingly complex, interrelated global crises - an approach Fuller called comprehensive anticipatory design science.  This first conversation event aspired to trigger ongoing conversations in a group of forward thinkers and peers of the design and architecture fields. Guests and panelists included Bill Browning - founding member of the USGBC and founder-ceo of Terrapin Bright, and Hilary Brown - board member of the Buckminster Fuller institute - Hilary teaches sustainable design at the Princeton and Columbia University Schools of Architecture.
